The Long Road
03/18/2003 Archived Entry: "Who Knew Green Beer Was Actually Green BEER?"
So I did end up going out after all. If I fail this assignment, it’s all Mike’s fault. We went to Wilf’s at Wilfred Laurier, seeing as UW currently doesn’t have an on-campus bar. The line to get in was pretty long but there were something like 3 girls for every guy in line, again, not something we see very often in UW. The bouncer told Mike that no bags were allowed inside, so we decided to leave. When we got to our bikes, Mike decides to lock up his bag with his bike, so we go back to the end of the line. The bouncer recognized us though and asked us if we remember where in line we were when we left. I went to look through the line and found the girl that was in front of us. The bouncer asks the girl if she remembers us being behind her, she says no, but he lets us in there anyways. As if I’d just go pick someone at random in the line. =)
About 10 minutes later, we’re at the front of the line, and we’re told that non-Laurier students have to get signed in. The bouncer asks the guys behind us to sign us in at the door, they agree. We get in, pay our 2$ fee (going to a cystic fibrosis charity) but no one asks us anything about signing in, so we just walk on through.
We ordered a pitcher of green beer ($10.25). Now, I’m obviously highly delusioned because I thought green beer was some special alcoholic drink that they trotted out once a year, but NO, its just normal beer with food colouring! VERY disappointed.
The reason we went to Wilf’s in the first place was because Jill was working there. She said she’d get us free food if we went. Anyways, we were there for a long while before we got anything to eat. The manager was standing in front of the kitchen exit for quite a bit. Eventually, a waitress came to our table and said “did you guys order this?” and gave Mike a little nudge on the arm. We got a platter of appetizers including deep fried battered mushrooms which were really good and nachos which I had for dinner not 2 hours before! We ended up leaving at around 10:30 but not before Jill sneaked Mike about 100 pounds of lunch meats. I thought it was pretty funny the way she had to hide it every time someone walked by! I’ve never seen a girl give a guy so much meat before.

you had a better night than I did...I'm still studying for my Theory exam tomorrow.
A girl giving a guy a lot of meat eh....talk about a role reversal!
