The Long Road
03/26/2003 Archived Entry: "OH Tony Lee!!"
So Katie got some complimentary tickets to see Tony Lee the hypnotist. Before the show, Katie and I went out to McGuinness Frontrow for some half priced appetizers. We ate 40$ worth of over-priced appetizers for a decent 20$. After dinner we headed off to Fed Hall where Shawn met up with us.
The show started with a stand up comic doing a 15 minute routine about sex that included the phrase "clitar solo". Tony Lee's show was mostly about humiliating people sexually somehow. It was quite funny. When he did the 'initial hypnotizing' I was trying to participate, but he lost me after a bit. He was trying to get us to keep our hands clasped together, it worked for just a second with me. Those who couldn't re-open their hands were asked to get onstage and they were the subjects for the night. Some of the highlights include dinosaur beastiality, angry phone calls to roomates, guys pretending to be girls and girls pretending to be guys.
At the end of the show, he hypnotized the people onstage to have a very vocal orgasm each time someone shook their left hand for the rest of the night. One of the girls sprawled on the floor, shook and moaned everytime. It was FANTASTIC. I shook this other girl's hand; her reaction wasn't as great as the first girl's, but let me tell ya, thats the easist time I've ever had trying to get a girl to orgasm.
Read Shawn's account of it here.
What did you just say? CS360 a5?? OH....ummm...yaaa....

you lucky bastard! I saw Tony Lee in Chatham a few years back (got in underage somehow ;) ) and thought it was the funniest thing I'd ever seen.
Everytime he's been at UW, I've had a night class...maybe next year I will FINALLY get to see him again.

Tony Lee's definitely best upon your first viewing of his show. Most of it is the 'shock factor' which isn't as strong the second time. It's also a much better show when you know one of the people being hypnotized. Oh the fond memories of Mike Ruth's adventures in hypnotization...

After just starting Keele University, on my 1st full day's night there was a hypnotist show. I figured it was the place to go as A) I had never seen a live hypnotised show and B) Every one else at the Uni was there.
When I got there he got people to do the hand grasping trick, it worked a faair bit on me though I could open them after 10 seconds or so.
After that he invited people on stage, being the fool I am I went on. Through the stuff I was meant to do I really enjoyed it. Being sceptical at 1st I have to admit that it does in fact work, yet at some stages I was more concious of my actions than others. Yet every other person on stage were under a strong trance.
Needless to say after 3 days I am still suffering abuse from people I have never met, however given the opportunity I would go back up again.
