The Long Road
06/02/2003 Archived Entry: "And Then Some"
On my way to meet Anne and Christine for lunch today some guy was standing at an intersection filming cars going by. It was very strange. I got to the intersection; he followed me with the camera so I made a complete stop, looked both ways and went on my merry way. Just in case.
Lunch was Dim Sum. Can you believe that Christine has never had Dim Sum before? Well she hadn’t until today when she had some, and then some, and then some. Hoho!
I asked the girls how I could get out of certain sticky situations that I always seem to find myself in. The answer was that I should find ways to avoid these situations altogether. Soddin’ Genius!
After lunch we went off to the mall where I bought a pair of pants and contemplated very seriously getting a fancy Perry Ellis watch. But I didn’t. Maybe later this week tho. Walked into a jewelry store to look at some of their watches, I picked one out and asked the woman what it cost: 1759$. OH MY GOD! Trust me to always be able to pick out the most expensive thing in the store. It was such a beautiful watch…
We then went to Bubblicity, the only dedicated bubble tea shop in Ottawa! This was my second time there; the place is not as good as Sweet Dreams but way better than any other place in Ottawa. An old high school friend happens to work there; she’s been there both times I’ve gone!
Tomorrow begins my first game of tennis! Hoo-hah!

the bubble tea isn't quite as good as sweet dreams? that's no good! no good at all! hehehe ... i think i was spoiled after having good bubble tea in toronto ... then coming back to waterloo and having the pearls at sweet dreams that tasted like wall paper paste ..

I almost never get pearls though. I like bubble tea more for the tea than the bubble.

I've only ever had bubble tea at Sweet Dreams and the other place in University Plaza. I usually go to Sweet Dreams though because I always feel like the other place doesn't like me. Anyway, I'm surprised that places in Ottawa aren't as good as here. MAybe because it's a larger city, but I would expect them to have better stuff than us.

I've also been pretty confused about Ottawa's lack of bubble tea places. I mean, this is the first bubble tea SHOP here.
And ya, the other place isn't all that welcoming to ...um...outsiders.

Yes, I know exactly what you mean.

yeah ... timeless used to definitely scare me ... i always had to go with a friend so she could make sure everything was ordered properly and stuff
sweet dreams also has those nifty customer loyalty cards where if you buy so many, you get one free ... my problem is i always forget the card so i have about 5 with one or two stamps on them ... oops
and rayne, the bubbles are what make bubble tea bubble tea ... how can you not like them? although, most of my friends do prefer the jellies ... there's more mixing and matching that can go on with them

MAAaaaaan.
I went to the bubble tea place again yesterday. For the third time, and twice now I've gotten the wrong thing. I keep getting 'em slushie deal drinks instead of the tea thing.
Apparently they keep hearing DEEE when I'm ordering BEEEE.
Me being me though, I just took it and drank it without complaining. Silly.

complain! make them give you free stuff! we're students ... it's all about the free stuff!

I guess I'm not big on complaining about wrong orders...they got the flavors right though...I think.
I also tend to like the jellies more, coconut being my favourite, but the drink on its own is usually good enough for me.
