"Imagine on earth if human beings not only evolved into people, but also certain reptiles, certain amphibians, certain insects, etc. etc. What if we had been a planet where there were many different kinds of species that came about? What would that be like? What would that culture be like?" -- Brandon Braga

Has Brandon Braga finally lost his mind or am I the only one that thinks that that statement is stupid beyond reason?

Quite a few people think he's lost his mind and his touch...I've heard a rumor that there's a petition to get him and Rick Breman kicked out of the Star Trek franchise. People don't like what they're doing with the show and the legacy. I'm not sure if it's true or not but I've had a couple emails about it.

It isn't true, one must first have a working mind (or reasonable facimilie) before they can claim it to be lost.

A writer, Star Trek.

He's also one of the producers.

Braga, along with Rick Berman are the Dynamic Duo who've been producing Star Trek for about 10 years and slowly flushing its originality down the toilet.

But honestly, people who've evolved into people, reptiles and amphibians? WHAT?? doesn't sound biologically possible.

"What if we had been a planet where there were many different kinds of species that came about? What would that be like? What would that culture be like?" -- sounds like Earth to me =)

how come you all know star trek!?!?

Before coming in Ottawa, i had never been in any kind of contact with a person who was a fan lol. :P

mybe there's a cultural difference that could explain that

I've been a Trekkie since elementary school. And proud of it! :D

Many, many people who read my site are Trekkies (i'm pretty sure, anyways).

Maybe Star Trek doesn't exist en Francais, ou bien la traduction du nom n'etais pas aussi attrayan. "Le Voyage des Etoiles"??

I can assure you it exists, but maybe the fact that the french voice actors and scripts sucked contributed to the fact that i never watched more than 3 episodes in a row :P

its still called star trek though lol. they didnt find a cool french name

I think what Braga means is that he would want the reptiles, amphibians, insects, to evolve into different humanoid forms...

The first time I read the statement, I was confused as well...

I still like to think that he thinks the world would be cool if there were people, insects, reptiles and amphibians in it.

LOL!!!

There's that whole lawsuit Activision filed against Viacom for making the Star Trek franchise so shitty despite Activision's efforts to the contrary.

It'd be cool if anyone could sue a company for making a crappy product. Not harmful in any way, just crappy.

the sentence, as read, does make no sense. i think what he means though is what would happen, if different species evolved into intelligent species at the same time, such that is a species of sentient insects, of sentient reptiles, of sentient mammals, etc, that evolved at the same time and had to coexist.
