So I'm out eatin lunch at a picnic table with Darryl and Sarah today when I quite suddenly felt like I was going to faint. My vision became blurred, my heart raced, I sweated a lot, and Sarah says I became pale and rolled my eyes. It was very much like the feeling one gets when a quickly ascending elevator slows down except this was constant and prolonged. I must have sat there very still for five minutes taking shallow breaths. Sarah noticed and seemed quite concerned while Darryl just went on with his story *shakes fist at oblivious friend*. I eventually snapped out of it and my hands were numb for a while after. I'm still feeling a little light-headed now.

This has happened once before in the changeroom at the PAC after I had worked out for 90 minutes without having eaten anything that day.

A very unsettling experience.

Hmm, quite odd, maybe you should see a doctor about it. I have an irregular heart beat so every once in a while I feel like I can't breathe, but just for a second. It is like my heart just didn't beat when it should have.

Like when Jill walks into a room and your heart skips a beat? That's definately abnormal. =P

Doctor? pssssha!

It seems like insulin shock (not enough sugar in bloodstream)...triggered by not eating enough, exercising too much, stress...common to diabetics...however, it could also be heat exhaustion...as you were eating...

Sounds like Heat Exhaustion from what I've been told. I just had about 2 liters of water tho so this better not happen again!

I'd rather you had heat exhaustion than heat stroke! Were you still sweating from the heat? The absence of sweating is one of the important findings that differentiates between heat stroke and heat exhaustion. With Heat Stroke the bodies compensatory mechanisims have been overwhelmed and your body can't regulate it's core temperature anymore.
Wow. That turned into a little lesson. lol. I'm glad you're feeling better though!

I think the sweating stopped after the THING passed.

How come everyone knows about this kind of thing but me??

I guess you're the healthier person among us..

im pretty sure it's related to that delicious chinese food you eat at home! I'm so jealous!

I REALLY doubt it was a heat stroke...that's a major condition (you call 911 for it)...something that just doesn't go away over a lunch...so heat stroke is out of the question...
