The Long Road

Go here for a ridiculously cool picture of Doctor Octopus, the villain from the upcoming Spider-Man 2. I was expecting silly looking cylindrical arms (like in the comics and cartoons) but what they came up with here looks really good, almost like a crazy combination of Aliens biology and Terminator technology.
Click here to read about and look at some pictures of an amazing looking Batman short film that will probably never get released to the general public.
This weekend was the weekend of the annual San Diego Comic Book Convention, the largest comic book convention in North America. I sometimes think that I'd like to go but I'm not really into walking amongst a huge throng people or meeting creators. The only real draw for going to such a thing, for me, would be to find good deals on comics. If I ever happened to be in San Diego at the right time I'd probably go but it's not something I'd go out of my way to attend.

Hmm...I don't find that Dr. Octopus pic as amazing as you told me over the phone...I probably wouldn't even mention it to people...:P!

Doctor Octopus' arms remind me of the cruel machine that tortures and mutilates till death a poor man in Nin's "Happiness In Slavery" music video... Creepy!
I wonder if the second movie will be in the same 13+ orientation, a more mature one or a General one. I usually prefer a lot darker movies about superheroes.
"The Unbreakable" is my favorite one, "Spawn" the one that disappointed me most because it was so much different from the comic in order to be 13+. Spiderman1 was cool though, i enjoyed it!

Man, I totally wish I could have gotten to the San Diego Comic-Con this weekend. Tycho and Gabe were there as well as the entire cast of Farscape. Ben Browder was even going to be a part of one of those fun round-table discussions! If only...

dAN, I told you that you'd be underwhelmed by it, didn't I? Maybe if I hadn't mentioned it...
I think Spider-Man 2 will be darker, but not THAT dark. It's still aimed at kids, after all.
I didn't like Unbreakable that much...it had the wrong tone to it.

i didn't even see the comic book likeness of unbreakable until they slapped me in teh face with it.
when thai showed my the dr. octopus guy, i was like "fancy", and then thai got disappointed, and he said in a very enthusiastic voice "it's fantastic!". meanwhile i'm think fantastic is almost the same word as fancy. they both have fan in them... and a c, though the sound of the c is different in each word...

I gotta admit the unbreakable didnt have the feeling of a comic book. It was like digging the idea of what a superhero would be in the real world. (No suit, no particular bravery, just superpowers!)
Eheh i really like it when shawn visits this site, he leaves a comment everywhere and then ignores the site for another 10 days :)

man, you guys need to be more enthusiastic about Doc Ock! He looks super bad-ass. Compare that picture to the "classic" comic Doc Ock.
Replying to shawn's replies is like following a cat's muddy footprints after it's come in from the rain!

Geeze... even Wil Wheaton was at the comic-con!

i think it's funny that wil wheaton's site is like any other typical site - with links to interesting things. including... da duh-duh DA! homestar runner.
and then also think geek, and another web comic thing in there. it's like he's a web comic guy himself, except instead of doing a web comic, well, he just has years of experience as a star trek character.

On a totally different topic, i'd like to write two words to enlighten this topic and make it more lovely:
- Japanimation
- Blogger
Thanks for your attention.

Wow, two uses of the word "topic" in 12 words. i'm impressed with myself... I should really proofread what i post or stop writing.
