08/02/2003 Archived Entry: "random shit"

Some of the last few entries have been pretty tough to write, I thought I’d have something interesting to say on some those topics but when I sat down to write I started just losing sight of what I was going for. Grr!! I’m having difficulty focusing my words lately, I think.

In other news, I ate a “coffee crisp triple mocha” the other day. BEST. CHOCOLATE. BAR. EVER.

I’m reading “The Bogie Man” and think that it would be really cool to be a detective! How do I start on such a venture? Does anyone reading this need any detecting done?

Movies I’ve seen recently.
Catch Me If You Can: really fun film! Kinda long but I was really amazed that someone actually did all that was depicted before the age of 21.

Spirited Away: amazingly heartwarming and creative blend of “wizard of oz” and “alice in wonderland”. Definitely a 10 on the ol’ 10 scale.

Man In The Iron Mask: great actors playing the four musketeers but DiCaprio stood out way too much against them. Also includes one of the cheesiest scenes I’ve ever seen: “such valour”.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Keira Knightley IS the sexiest tomboy beanpole on the planet. That and the movie’s really good too. AWESOME skeletal-pirate effects. Johnny Depp totally owned this movie. He deserves an Oscar!

American Wedding: funny, obnoxious, gross and surprisingly heartwarming. Stifler absolutely ruled here.

I totally agree with you on Spirited Away, Pirates of the Caribbean and American Wedding.

Johnney Depp was SO good i nthat movie. It really made it worth it all. This is not to say it wasn't good on its own, but other than Keira and the skeletal pirates, his character is what I'll remember (and my silent wish that the blacksmith would grown elf-ears and reveal that he was, in fact, Legolas).

American Wedding... yeah. Stiffler's the man. He's just SO obnoxious and gross though. I had forgotten how bad he was but MAN. Oh, and that blond chick was hot, too.

"Mother fucker!"
"Yes, I am."

*cries* i haven't seen any of those new movies!

i want to see some movies!

spending money to se movies in theatres is something i see as totally justifiable. but spending money on just going out for dinner seems... not justfied. hmmm. yay movies!

maybe it's because i figure i'm getting a lot of value for my money in a movie theatre. you get a new movie, a giant screen, excellent sound and video quality, and usually it's a social event (you go with people).

but only when i just pay for the movie. paying for snacks there is atrocious!

romer: your silent wish ain't so silent now is it???

I get lots of value from going out to eat. Trying new foods, beating starvation, and its really worth it if the food is GOOD. Eating out (food) is TOTALLY a social experience, much more so than going to a movie where you spend 2 hours in silence. unless you go with...certain people.
