The Long Road
09/10/2003 Archived Entry: "I don't believe it."
So, first class on the first day of class. I get to class 5 minutes late at St.Jerome’s 3012. I sit down trying to not attract too much attention. I recognized one person, Malcolm. Anyways, I’m there for about five minutes when I see that all the students have a handout that says “Calculus 3” on it. I’m supposed to be in C&O 350. I escape through the back door, again, trying to not attract too much attention. At the library I use one of the computers to look up my schedule and sure enough C&O had moved to room 110 in some building called “Rod Clouts Hall”. I have never heard of RCH so off I went to the SLC (Student Life Center) to find a campus map. RCH turns out to be one of the engineering buildings, but on the map a HUGE section of campus is labeled RCH. I ended up wandering through and around most of the engineering part of campus before coming to building “R. L. Clouts”; The Submarine itself! By the time I found room 110 it was about 10 minutes before lectures ended. I poked my head into the room, saw some people and left so I could be on time for at least one class on my first day.

First hour of the first dance class of the year and I frelled up my knee pretty well. First days suck.

The moral of this story appears to be..."trying not to attract too much attention"...:P...I swear I thought there was a reason for you to bring that up a couple of times...

wow ... that was always my worst nightmare for the first day of classes ... i've seen it happen to others before, but never myself (thank goodness)
(p.s. i'm back!)

I'd have no excuse if I didn't. It's been in the same place for three years.

Have you ever considered synchronizing "Thai Time" with Eastern Standard?

Small anecdoote that reminds me of Thai's well-known problem with time : my mother is exactly the same kind of always-late person and, in order to be on time in meetings with friends, my father changed the hour of every clock in the house. By doing so, my mom thought that she was arriving horribly late but, in fact, was right on time or among the first attendants!!! :D
Ahah maybe i'll tell thai's next girlfriend about the "astuce"!

I've tried the moving my clock forward thing, it doesn't really work since I realize the clocks are wrong and just keep on doing my thing. I usually don't care that I'm late anyways =D
