12/12/2003 Archived Entry: "Rayne's week on TV"
Thoughts on this week's Survivor, Twenty-Four, and The Simple Life.
Lots of spoilers.
I also started getting into some DS9 again this week, it is such a wonderfully good show. Brings back great memories.
24 3x07
This ep had the best ending, scratch that, it was the best TWO endings of this season if not the whole series. It was a different ending than what we’re used to because its always an “oh no” moment, but this episode was an “omg, Jack is going to kick some ass now” moment – sorta like season two’s epic haircut but more tangible. I’m really looking forward to seeing what the plan is and I want to know why Jack had to re-infiltrate himself into the Salazar operation when he was already in there and in their good graces in the first place. Gael being a fake mole was a stroke of genius! I was beginning to feel that 24 was getting redundant but not after this ep.
The Simple Life 1x03
The girls are either being told to screw around or they don’t care about these jobs because they know they’ll only be there for 1 day. Either way, it’s funny to watch them be obnoxious rich kids. I really enjoyed watching them wrestle in that grocery store while in their mascot suits, it was ridiculous! I get the feeling that behind her laziness and devil-may-care attitude that Nicole Ritchie is probably a pretty smart girl, watching her make fun of the drivers in the pick up window is a hoot. Paris, on the other hand, is beyond helpless. There’s something about the show that really bugs me though, it’s either the camcorder look or the narrator’s voice – or both. I haven’t quite decided yet.
Survivor 7x12
ARGH!! Lillian is still there!! The constant moping this episode was worse than ever! I don’t understand how this incredibly incompetent person could be a scout master. She couldn’t do that North-East-South-West thing nor build a stick that would hold together. Darrah should become the poster girl for pro-anorexia after this week’s challenge. As soon as Burton said that he’d take Jon to the reward challenge I knew that he had made a mistake! The two of them were so sure of their positions and underestimated the girls just ever so slightly. Burton should have taken Lill or Darrah leaving Jon behind to mess with the other two girls. Instead the girls finally got the opportunity to mobilize and get something done. After they came back they guys immediately realized what was going on and got to work and it seemed like they weren’t far from pulling one of the girls back, but alas they stuck to their guns. I think the editors really wanted to make fun of those two boys because they just kept showing them telling the camera how dumb the girls are. Rupert and Christa, who looked great, must have really disliked Burton who at least got a cool car. Jon, who had some touching things to say today, must be freaking out now. Next episode is this Sunday and it’s THREE HOURS LONG. I’m probably going to have to tape it seeing as we’re in the middle of exams still!

I'll ruin the finale for you...mwa-ha-ha...:P
I thought Jon and Burton bragging about their positions was FUNNY...probably because what they were saying was true...I had my doubts about who was going to be voted off till the very end, as these very same girls have revealed their stupidity many times before...
The finale is two hours...the reunion is an hour long...
