09/21/2004 Archived Entry: "Perks"

The greatest perk about my job is that I get a laptop (it's technically not really a perk since I do need it for the job I'm doing). The convenience of it is awesome. Crawling into bed, wrapping myself up in a blanket, and watching 4 hours of Gundam Seed on my laptop in the middle of the night is one of the best experiences ever! It felt a lot like curling up in a blanket and a book, except better.

Then there was the time I brough my laptop to the laundry room and guarded over my washing clothes while watching a movie, how fun! I generally just feel very L33T carrying the thing around.

I'm going to miss this thing more than Erin when I give it back. The battery life kinda sucks though, only 2.5 hours with a full charge.

I think T4G, my employer, missed a great opportunity by not making their tagline "We're I.T." instead of "The Intelligent Application of Technology". Though maybe businesses take themselves too seriously for that kind of joke.

great tagline - maybe you should suggest it to them for whenever they revamp their image

i think having a laptop spoils my reading ... i find now i curl up in my bed wth my laptop before i go to sleep, instead od with a book. i must reverse this process!

hey.. The laptops we got aren't particularly good though, no built in wireless either! Unless you got a better one than we did since you're in dev :( :(

nice blog btw.

You should ask them if they're 1337. With a name like T4G they must be!!!

My laptop is far superior. Though I don't have wireless, I've been complimented on having one of the "newer" ones.

It used to stand for Technologies For Growth and they decided to shorten it, I'm sure it's not L33T.

Missing a laptop more than Erin?!?!...I'd maybe comprehend the statement if the name were spelt Aaron.

it's this sort of entry that is the meat and potatoes of blogging.

A. T4G sucks...
B. That laptop must have been really good to want to stay at that company.
