I swear, Toronto is the only city where you have to seriously consider whether buying a bus pass is worth it or not. One would think that having a monthly pass would be cheaper than paying for individual rides twice a day, 5 days a week for four weeks. But NooOOOOooo.

At (roughly) 100$, the monthly pass is the same as about 50 rides. To get your money's worth you have to go to work everyday and then "out" once in a while. What a silly notion. Elsewhere, a montly pass is MORE than paid for after just 2 weeks of going to work.

Damn the TTC and their frequently arriving, and quick moving underground trains!! *shakes fist*

yeah, it sucks, that's for sure. but if you don't ever use it any other time you might as well go with tokens or tickets. I get it because i need to use the ttc to get groceries and just in case i need to get around. expensive yes, but then again so is everything in TO.

I agree it totally sucks, and the subway may be fast and convenient but the bus routes out this way are horrible particularly in traffic. Where are the bus only lanes?

The pass cost bugged me too.. my first time in TO, I bought passes. I have no idea whether I got my money's worth -- probably not. Second time around I just got tokens. I had this old empty tube of Tylenol still kicking around, and it was the perfect container for the tokens.

the metropass is kind of a rip off ... unless you want to lock yourself in for a year of metropasses ...

although, if i did have one, i'd probably use the ttc a whole lot more - but then when would i get my "exercise"?

the ttc can be terribly convenient, or more often than not during "rush hours" terribly frustrating. i'll just be glad to move downtown so my reliance on the ttc will be kept to a minimum.
