Lost is a tv series about a group of strangers who have crash landed on some mysterious desert island and their quest to survive. The obvious comparisons apply: Lord of the Flies, and Survivor.

Aside from a lot of conflicting personalities and characters that all seem to have some kind of secret, there's also some kind of unseen, huge, wild animal prowling around the island to stir the shit up and keep things exciting. Sorta like if Jeff Probst was malevolant instead of being the nice man that he is.

One of the most impressive scenes I've ever seen on TV occurs in episode two. They manage to make a really scary and foreboding moment using only 6 people, and 1 transceiver in a wide open field. In broad daylight.

Lost so far has some kind of cliffhanger at the end of every episode. Ever notice that no matter how poor a show is, if it ends in some kind of insane cliffhanger that's all you'll remember about it? The last few minutes of any tv show can totally make or break any episode.

Hopefully, the boys and girls behind Lost have some kind of overall Ending in mind for this series. It does seem like theres a "plan" so the show better not be dragged out endlessly. I can totally see myself thinking "will they please just all die or get off the island already?" if this thing lasts till season 5.

Check out Lost. I haven't been this jazzed about a TV since Twenty-Four season 1.
