From one of the producers on the Transformers movie: "We are going to stay true to the Transformers", a bit later..."No, I don't believe that is going to happen, I don't know why you would want the original voice over actors."

The guy obviously doesn't get it. There is no hope for this movie anymore.

Transfomer fans am cry.

It's hard to put into to words, but having the original actors for Optimus Prime and Megatron in the movie would definately push all the right geekbuttons. I can't even imagine someone like Tom Hanks saying "Transform and roll out!". What's with Hollywood's obsession with casting big names in voice-over roles anyways? They're expensive and unnecessary. Hollywood should have learnt by now that appealing to a property's core fanbase is important when it comes to movies like this, and casting the original voice actors would be a great guesture to prove that they "get it". I swear to god, if Optimus Prime is voiced by Ben Afflect and transforms into a fire truck, I will boycott this movie by... downloading it and seeding it for a whole month!

Transformers was basically a 30 minute long toy commercial when we were kids, but think of the opportunities that arise with a live action movie! Not only will they be selling toys to a whole new generation of kids but the movie could be a 2 hour car commercial. Obviously, no one's going to go out and buy an 18 wheeler but they can easily update some of the other robots to more modern models. If I were a car manufacturer, I would most definately go up to the movie guys and try to get my vehicles in the film. I'd love to see transforming Carreras, Vipers, Rams, and 3s.

A few pages discussing the interview quoted at the beginning have been taken down! hmm...

Grr...Hollywood...

Its just like the selection of Nicolas Cage for Ghost Rider...if my sources are correct, then the movie will be a flop like Daredevil and Hulk. Unless, by some miracle, Cage can pull a Jackman-Wolverine and actually portray a decent Ghost Rider...but I'm pessimistic about it.

I think Cage as Ghost Rider would be alright, s'not like we'll see his face when he's GR.

Well, Trax was a viper, but he was pretty gay so i don't know if you'd want him in this movie.

nah, more like 22 when you remove commercial, etc. but saying 30 has a nicer ring to it.

I swear I saw a 12 min episode once...but used to think they were a half hour long when I was younger.
