Etienne and I have been looking at travel packages for a few weeks to China and found one that looked decidedly better than the others. This guy. We went to a presentation on the tour yesterday and I was quite impressed with the details of it, but hadn't really made up my mind one way or another. However, it came out that there were only 10 spots left for the Nov.7 departure date and the info session was PACKED. Etienne and I decided that it was then or never so we put down a deposit for it. Honestly, I hadnt planned on committing to the trip right then and there and might still be in disbelief about it. Not every day you spend that much money. Hasnt really sunk in yet...however, I am going to China!!

Your tuition wasn't 5K for 4 months Thai...which is the minimum your trip will come out to...if not 6K. Unless you're counting living expenses. Does the trip include meals?

dAN, you're wrong about the 5-6K.

I just gave my total payment to the travel agency. It sums up to 3 821$. Meals, tips, visa fees included. Only one day in Hong Kong will be free for us to plan, because we chose not to follow our group on that day.

We were told, however, that only one alcohol drink per meal was accounted for during meals. If we were to want a second pint of beer at the restaurant, it would cost us about 80 cents. If we wait and buy it in a grocery store instead, we can get it for 30 cents. China is cheap.

I do plan to have about 1000$ available if I see cool things I want to buy there, but I really doubt It will get to 5000$, even less 6000$.

But yes, 5k easy is what i'm predicting.

NO ONE IS RECEIVING XMAS PRESENTS THIS YEAR. although, maybe everyone will be getting 1$ shirts from china.
