| We visited 2 places in Suzhou. The first being this huge garden where Serge finally found his wild goose. We were quite happy to see it since it meant the chase was over. The garden also had many rooms filled with traditional chinese furniture, including an antique Go table. It was nice, but it mostly looked like home anyways. There was also a very vast Bansai garden and, of course, a gift shop where one could buy some art. | ||
| The second place we visited was perhaps the best of the shops we would go to. It was a Choyers' silk store where they also showed us modern and older silk weaving machines. Cool stuff included the Silkworm soup left over after the coccoons had been unraveled. What I loved most was that most modern of the machines was an old punch-card computer, I had actually never seen a functional one like that before. This is probably the place where I spent the most money, everything was just so beautiful. It also seemed like everyone bought a silk duvet, all I saw coming out of the store was people carrying silk duvets. Even the tour guides got in on it, so I'm guessing it was a good deal. | ||

For spending X dollars, we got free silk things. Etienne got a scarf and asked Julien what to do with it, leading to a demonstration at the front of the bus. We got a good laugh out of it.
