Day 6 - Wuzhen

Next up was a famous tea plantation. You can see in these pictures that Etienne and I are modelling our new 3$ shirts. Anyways, they were selling us Long Jing green tea, one of the highest grades of green tea available. The salesman was amazing even though we didn't understand what he was saying, and the tea sample they let us try was also really good. In the end we each bought a 30$ jar of tea leaves. The group as a whole probably bought a few dozen jars. It was cool seeing the tea frying process, and it was a nice area, as you can see by all the pictures.

Most of this day was spent busing. We drove from Hangzhou to Suzhou with a stop in Wuzhen. Wuzhen was a quaint little town built around some waterways where you can get local boat men to drive you around. If I remember correctly, this is where the final scenes of Mission Impossible 3 were shot. The locals were selling a lot of different kinds of candies made from almonds, sesame, peanuts. I bought some, loved it, and when I went to choose some more random ones, they all turned out to be sesame based. UGH. Got so sick of that stuff, especially after it started leaking everywhere in my cool-ass bag.

In the hotel, we were treated to not only one, but TWO "warmly welcome" signs! Our hotel room was also quite huge. When we tried to get into the bar beside the hotel we were refused for some unknown reason. We asked for a place to drink and they showed us a private karaoke bar, then we asked if we could go into the bigger room with a dozen or so people and they told us no...to this day, we're not sure why. It sucked because there was nothing else in the area.
